George Carmi’s review published on Letterboxd:
Maybe the back to back releases of Black Adam and the worst MCU movie, Quantumania, left a bad taste in my mouth and my expectations were wildly low, but Shazam 2 wasn’t all that bad. The corniness of the first is still present but I found myself decently entertained for 2 hours. To my absolute surprise the comedy actually hits more than I expected it to and this film also provides me with a level of heart and emotion I did not expect. We’re not winning any screenplay awards here but whatever, in a world where Black Adam and Quantu-trash-ia exist, Shazam 2 wasn’t nearly as bad or as insufferable to sit through.
