George Ehret’s review published on Letterboxd:
My showing had roughly the same number of people in it as my showing for Everything Everywhere All at Once and in the latter screening the audience was far more invested in the film than the Lightyear screening. Talk about based.
This film is devoid of any kind of personality, originality, emotion, and stakes. There's no characters with any personality or substantial development. There's nothing here that hasn't been done in other movies. The film doesn't bother to even explore any themes, at least in any overt way. There's just nothing really that compelling about this film. Yes there's great animation and sound and all that jazz, but this movie was just the textbook definition of mid.
