"They're saps cause they fight for strangers."
What makes "The Godfather Part II" so amazing really is that it is all emotion, just like Coppola's best films, and really shows that the reason movies exist is to make you feel something, and this whole film is feeling. Michael's descent and Vito's rise are complimentary as an allegory for what the American Dream is and how violence corrupts. Coppola is a grand master of cinema and is one of the living legends and one of the greatest geniuses of our time.
