I was in awe of this film. How can someone make something this beautiful? This poetic? This majestic? I didn't think I could love Rooney Mara more but holy shit she is my  God. Ryan Gosling in his best performance since Drive. Natalie Portman is fantastic as always. Michael Fassbender is a legend in this film. Malick has never made a film this romantic, this intimate, this lovely, this heartbreaking, and this beautiful. I'm L I V I N G !

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me

There's a darkness inside Laura Palmer. Something that is eating her from the inside as she enters an underworld of drugs, sex, and unspeakable horrors. She pushes away everyone that she loves and cares for so that darkness won't seep into them. But there's a light inside of her. "People are always talking about freedom. Freedom to live in a certain way without being kicked around. Course, the more you live a certain way, the less it feels like freedom. Me? It's like you got yesterday, today, and tomorrow, all in…

    The Sparks Brothers

First time back at the Aero Theater was a major success! I was not too familiar with Sparks before this but I’m definitely a fan now. It was nice to hear Russell and Ron talk with Patton Oswalt and Edgar Wright after the screening. The first time I really felt like I was back in the movies to some normalcy. Patton Oswalt lightly teased me wearing my Once Upon a Time in Hollywood shirt but it was very funny. I…

I always love films about people feeling...lost. It reminds me of who I am. There's this feeling of trying to find a connection to something but there's a struggle as you don't know how to work that connection. That's what I think Wong Kar-Wai pulls off so well with this film. He creates these parallel stories of people who want to connect but are too lost to do anything about it. This is the true work of a master and…
