Gentry’s review published on Letterboxd:
“I wonder if you wonder.”
Leg man Walter Neff is seduced as much by an anklet as by the idea of the perfect crime. He’s a dead man walking the moment he meets Stanwyck’s killer dame. He can’t even hear his footsteps on the pavement. But femmes are going to fatale and his broken heart is his undoing. That said, the ending makes clear: it’s bros before murderous hoes. Give us a light, would ya?
“I wonder a lot of things. They don’t matter anymore.”
