It’s a step down, but I do appreciate how it continues advancing the narrative from Day of the Dead about how the zombies are getting smarter. From memory I don’t think Diary or Survival keep it up, which is a bit of a shame, although Diary is a prequel back to the early days of the outbreak so it has that excuse going for it.
Some other thoughts:
- Romero does love a silly looking zombie doesn’t he?
- I’m shocked…
Dawn might be the best of the first three, but both Night’s “They’re coming to get you Barbara” and Day’s repeating “Hellooo”s are much more iconic openings.

Had no idea what to expect from this when it started, but the further it went on the more I grew to enjoy it. Hesitant to say too much to avoid spoilers, even making comparisons (of which there are a few) would reveal more than I want to. Would heartily recommend you go into this without reading about it at all.
