George Clark’s review published on Letterboxd:
Disney Pixar's latest release, Luca, directed by Enrico Casarosa in his feature-length directorial debut, is a beautiful light-hearted coming of age film that, whilst no masterpiece, is a film purely made for the sense of fun that exudes from every angle of it.
The storyline, following two young boys who experience an unforgettable Italian summer while holding a deeply-held secret, is great. It's a pure ray of sunshine with a stunningly vibrant colour palette, adorable character designs and plenty of beautiful sweeping landscapes that stand out for their entirety. It's certainly not top tier Pixar but the joy it creates when mixing the wholesome, simple story with the sweet humour and fantastic score allowed me to enjoy every minute.
