I’ve always been an unashamed Marvel nerd. These characters, first the movies and now the comics that inspired them, have brought so much joy into my life over the years that it is hard not to have a bias against anything that depicts them. That being said, when the first film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, came out, I had no idea what it was. Without seeing a trailer, or any advertising for it, I went to the cinema with a…

    No Spoilers!
Back when I was 12 I traveled up to London for an operation with my mum, we always made it a habit to go to the cinema the night before and one time we decided to watch Guardians of the Galaxy, one of my first Marvel moves on the big screen. Getting to spend the remainder of my childhood with these characters has bought me so much joy over the years as, no matter what ups or downs…

I am astounded…Oliver Stones’ JFK is a true masterwork of filmmaking. It’s a riveting masterpiece that never lets up despite its three and a half hour runtime with Kevin Costner giving one of the finest performances that has ever graced our screens. The final hour is one of the greatest hours of filmmaking ever made. Everything from the astonishing cast, sublime directing and masterful story is perfect. I’m truly astonished. JFK is the definition of a masterpiece!

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD…The Creator is a modern Sci-fi EPIC! What Gareth Edwards has created here is nothing short of spectacular with Greig Fraser’s cinematography leaving my jaw on the floor, he’s the best in the business with every shot truly taking my breath away.

“Then we're the same. We can't go to heaven, because you're not good. And I'm not a person.”

By pondering the question of “what is humanity?”, the film thrives, crafting an emotional story of humans…

All Quiet on the Western Front

All Quiet on the Western Front is the best war film I’ve seen in quite some time, arguably standing alongside 1917 and Hacksaw Ridge as one of the best this decade.

Not often are films made from the German perspective, let alone make you sympathetic towards the soldiers. Yet it’s an approach that worked wonders for me. These men weren’t monsters, simply soldiers under the orders of a deranged man. That’s what makes All Quiet on the Western Front one…

Old women horror = the creepiest horror. To think all of this could have been avoided if she had just gotten laid.
