Came apart for me once we learned the “Why” all this was happening, it was just a little too on the nose I guess from my liking. I really dug the opening stalk and assault. It was very OG Scream-Esq, text messages and iPhones glued in all of our hands replacing the land lines utilized in the opening scene of the original Scream with Drew. Barrymore. I thought it was a nice more modern take.
The Covid quarantine 2020 angle really felt authentic and really took me back. I’m not ashamed to say we were spraying down & wiping down everything‘s back then. Even going as far as getting our mail with rubber gloves, we were those people. We basically quarantined in our house for like 8 months. Now only a little over three years later it seems like forever ago. I couldn’t even tell you the last time I really worried about Covid. I’ve had it three times for the record, three positive tests anyway, and it never affected me.
Another take away: Reaching for your phone as soon as you wake up, damn if that isn’t all of us now……. 😳🤷🏻♂️🥴.
Anyway, I thought this was fast paced. I liked the kills and the way the victims all fought back and held their own. This was a fun little flick that pretty much everyone I know hated, so again, confirming that my taste is probably crap.
