6 years in the making and the most amazing visual presentation of animation as you are likely to see.
The futuristic plot is neo-noir thriller with Blade Runner vibes.
The black and white animation is high contrast like Sin City and is so striking it's almost a distraction because it is so amazing. I need to rewatch it for the story next time because it lost me a few times.

    Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard

WTF, over the top and then up some more crazyness fun.
The bad guy, his wife and the bad body guard are back in action to save Europe from a crazy Greek.
Plenty of nonsense but with plenty of laughs too, a few gags fell flat but there were more good ones. It's a bit like the first film but with a twisted Bondesq on steroids plot.
Big names in the leads and cameos too, everyone is enjoying the sillyness with almost straight faces.
Several Range Rovers were harmed in the making of this film.

It's maybe a bit too American for me, I found the dialogue quite annoying, I couldn't really see the point of it being in black and white?.

One of the best biographies of the year (there have been quite a few too), Obviously I am biased because the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogies are amongst my favourite films of all time and this film can be seen very much as an accompanying movie because there are obviously so many references to those stories and how they evolved during Tolkien's early life. The cast is superb too, Nicholas Hoult is becoming one of my favourite young…
