I decided to turn Friday, March 13 on its head by watching a Krueger instead of a Voorhees, and chose what is easily my favorite.

This marks a turn in the series, but I was too young to watch anything before this one and part 4 were released, so Freddy has always been the wisecracking smart-alleck he became in 1987.

I love so much about this. I love how it constantly hops back and forth between hope and despair. I love the puppet death. I love the TV death. I love Kincaid's anger at everything and everyone. Both adult and (especially) teenage me love the need for Joey to dream about NURSE MARCIE seducing him. ❤️❤️❤️

I can understand if you're a purist and find Freddy's original form as him living his best life, but of the campy entries, Dream Warriors is my 5-star choice.
