The Great Beauty 2013
L’esthétisme et la manière de mettre en scène la capitale italienne me rappellent le chef d’œuvre de Federico Fellini, La Dolce Vita (1960). À peine caché, ce film est un hommage à la ville de Rome. Contrairement à la présence certaine d’un hommage à Fellini, le réalisateur se permet, durant un court et subtil dialogue en arrière-plan, pour émettre une opinion concernant le réalisateur Michelangelo Antonioni : «Antonioni, il fait chier». Son œuvre cinématographique, mais plus particulièrement les thèmes utilisés…

Arrival 2016
The greatest philosophical's movie of Denys Villeneuve. The existentialist thematic of the movie is very similar of the absurdist condition of Albert Camus in his novel The Stranger. It's not the end that is important but the journey and the vision of the protagonist to choose to accept the fact that she will know her futur and embrace it and it's fatality. It's similar to the end of the novel when Camus say: «Une vie ou je me souviendrai de celle-ci» (A life where I will remember this one).
