"X" wants so badly to be "texas chain saw massacre", but while the latter goes from 0 to 100 from the first kill, this movie doesn't get to even 10 in its whole length. it tries to "elevate" its horror by shoving a bunch of preachy social commentary that the material doesn't deserve, but that's not "elevation", that's self-importance. the movie simply doesn't have the balls to put its money where its mouth is, it's all posturing and aesthetics, butβ¦
