Almost playing out like an origin story of some of the members of the Guardians' family, this second adventure contains all the same winning ingredients added with some more dramatic moments. It finds the perfect balance between further characterization, lots of home hitting humorous scenes and intergalactic action.
It may be a tad overlong, the father son relationship scenes were a bit too obvious where they were going (we do need a villain, don't we?) but we were just having such a great time joining them in their universe, and when you realize that when you feel compassionate and carry a warm heart towards these almost invulnerable superhero characters, I think you can safely say it's a mission accomplished.
