It really is just that good. I WILL be doing a full blown analysis of this film. Very soon. That’s a damn promise. It’s a fascinating look at the creative process and how that interweaves with the basic human desire of love.
Phantom Thread was the key to making PTA’s movies make sense (at least Punch-Drunk Love and on). Phantom Thread took his underlying ideas and brought it to the surface. I still need to rewatch that, but probably even sooner will be yet another watch of The Master.
