Henry McConnell’s review published on Letterboxd:
Unapologetically Sam Raimi.
What a blast this was. Visual effects are as cool as ever, Elizabeth Olsen’s performance is the strongest one she’s given us yet in the MCU, and Xochitl Gomez is the MVP of the picture. While not as good as the first film or the director’s severely satisfying Spider-Man trilogy, I still had a good time. Remember, a true Marvel fan stays until the credits have finished rolling.
Xochitl, if you’re reading this, you have a great career ahead of you. I can’t wait to see what you do next, and I’m really hoping that America Chavez will return at some point in the future.
However, the sound suddenly cut off, putting that on par with my experience on the first one. This happened during a climactic fight and then multiple times during the closing credits.
