I spent much of the runtime contemplating what the elephant represents. My best guess was that the elephant represents complacency, stagnation, and apathy.

“Life just won’t get better. It’s all about agony. That agony has begun since you were born. You think that a new place will change your fate? It’s bullshit. New place, new sufferings.”

Might be the biggest surprise hit in Almodóvar’s filmography for me. The plot is complex enough to be constantly engaging, yet easy to follow, but it’s never confusing or overly complicated. The characters are all despicable in their own ways, yet also sympathetic at times too. There’s a reason to love and hate each one of them. Loved it!

November certainly isn’t a scary film - hell, it’s barely even an interesting one - but the ethereal music and breathtaking cinematography still make this film an incredible sensory experience.

Creative premise. I’ve never seen anything quite like it.

    Watch it here.
