A rewatch from when I was a teenager. It doesn't really hold up, unfortunately.

I tried to figure out while watching what made this movie so popular. And it's basically the extremely cool concepts and gorgeous designs. I enjoyed my watch. It's an interesting concept for a serial killer story and it's fast paced. I don't really know if the exorcist label helped it. I enjoyed the crazy editing and the Brad Dourif's performance. I didn't like George C Scott's. He just looks like a confused elderly man. There are a lot of cool and creepy moments but I didn't like the main character's actor and there are some really silly moments.

Wow, I loved it. There are so many cool things here. It just looks great. The camera movements and the editing are so cool. It's so matter of fact and non-crazy. I like crazy editing and camera movements but here it just makes everything looks so real. There's a nice mix of long unbroken takes and quick cuts. When there are quick edits it almost looks like a modern film, you can't tell it's an old film.…
