Still, after almost 20 years Finding Nemo holds up as one of the best animated movies I’ve ever seen. One of the fun things about having kids is I get to show them these classics from my childhood and enjoy the movie all over again with them. The animation still holds up, it’s a joy to look at.
I mainly watched this to see my favourite comedian Tom Segura in a serious role, unfortunately for me his appearance is a glorified cameo and the rest of the movie was a bit of a chore. The plot and dialogue took a hit it seems in order to just display some filmmaking. It’s easy to see director Cameron Van Hoy is heavily inspired by Nicolas Winding Refn, which I’m not mad at.
