everytime i watch carol my heart swells. not only is it a story that deeply resonates with me but it's also a beautiful fucking film with a beautiful score. i love how the beginning scene isn't actually the beginning. i love the little glances between carol and therese that say more than any words ever could. i love the coloring and the warm grainy look of 16mm. i love that goddamn tunnel scene. i love how the score makes me feel like i'm floating. i love the ambiguous yet not so ambiguous ending, and the way carol smirks like she's seeing her entire future with therese play right before her eyes.
