The Social Network

The Social Network ★★★★★

“we lived on farms, we lived in cities, and now we’re going to live on the internet!”

shut up shut up THIS is the movie of the decade. what other film had the foresight to explore the perils of life online before life online truly came to be?

it’s so perfectly crafted in every single way. everything is intentional. the pretentious dialogue, the grimy bar bathroom, the way the viewer can almost taste the stale air in the office in palo alto.

despite some imperfect casting choices (i have some issues with english actor max minghella as an indian american and i controversially don’t love garfield as eduardo either) this movie shines through as the movie of the 2010s because it was a warning. one that we maybe didn’t heed when we should have.

‘’mark zuckerberg, founder and CEO”
“on the home page?”
“on every page.”

i could go on and on and on about the social network for the rest of my life. i probably will.
