Yep, that star rating is correct. I have honestly always loved this movie. I was obviously very excited for this to come out. Every little detail and tidbit revealed before its release was promising. Yet another incredible film from our best living filmmaker. I truly don't think that anyone else could have made it. He directs the hell out of it, still showing what a talent he is even at eighty. The intro before the film has him saying how important this story was for him to tell and it's quite apparent throughout the entire film. An absolutely harrowing history lesson.

This was possibly the most excited that I have been for a movie. I go back and forth with either this or The Return of the King. Both were the rare big movies that lived up to and even surpassed the hype surrounding them. I remember having to wait in line outside of the theater auditorium to get good seats for both of them.
