    Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

The last two weeks have really put me through the ringer. So I decided tonight would be a great night to watch a couple of uplifting movies that I love.

I have been reading comics for twenty (holy shit) years now. My favorite art form is film. It always has been and always will be. But the runner-up would have to be comics. Like film, the best are made by people who have a true love and respect for the…

2016 was a really hard year for a lot of people. For me, it was the lowest point in my life. I was miserable and stuck in the worst job that I have ever had, my mental health was worse than ever, my mom was dealing with a lot of problems, my personal famous hero was diagnosed with brain cancer, and the horror of the 2016 election was on my mind for the majority of the year.

    I spent most…

The plot gets a bit conventional, but it's immaculately shot, well acted, and the action absolutely fucking rips.

We desperately need more movies of strong women kicking all of the ass.

This was what made me a Talking Heads fan for life. They have a permanent place in my top five favorite bands and they're the band that I would choose if I could go back in time and see one live.

Three viewings in and as cliched as it is to say, it really is the best concert movie ever. This is a movie where I can't just listen to the soundtrack or watch a song on YouTube. I need…

There have been several movies over the last decade or so where I have felt that in exchange for the ticket price, I got more than my money's worth. I also got an incredible and memorable experience out of them.

These are movies like Mad Max: Fury Road, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Arrival, Annihilation, The Witch, etc.

Everything Everywhere All at Once has now joined those other movies.

This is one of those movies where as you are watching it,…

    Mothra vs. Godzilla

This movie earns big points for having two of my favorite things in the entire series.

It has my favorite Godzilla suit. (I love the jowls.)

It also has my favorite Akira Ifukube score. (Epic kaiju music at its finest.)

If you're a newcomer to this nearly seventy year old franchise, this movie is a terrific starting point.

And how can anyone not love the Peanut twins?
