An absolute beast of a film, with monster performances by Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, Stephanie Hsu, and James Hong (with a surprisingly game performance by Jamie Lee Curtis). The stew that Daniels got cooking here, mixing big thoughts with the profoundly stupid, results in a very delicious experience. Big Trouble in Little China meets Cloud Atlas, with music video sensibilities. Literally every dollar of the 25 million dollar budget is up on screen (and they had to have stolen some more dough). Just like Swiss Army Man this will be a film that is representative of the social zeitgeist at the time of its release, to future film nerds.

Also, while it was awesome, it was sad for this to be another empty theatre screening, just like Licorice Pizza.
