Almost entirely terrible, saved only by Olsen’s terrifically committed, fun performance and the ways Raimi uses the confines of the for-hire job to have his own kind of fun. I think some of what he pulls off here is legitimately punk rock, and all the ways it feels like a 90s witch movie are A+++ choices. But this movie is absolute nonsense that mostly looks like shit. And I’ve unfortunately read just enough Marvel comics to be pissed about how they used the Illuminati and wasted the concept of incursions. The MCU is now nothing but fast food cinema.

This movie holds up to repeat viewings so well. All of the performances are really fun and get funnier and more interesting the more you watch it and invest in their individual stories. And the movie is…
