i don't think i've ever seen another piece of children's media directly call out fascism by name
the animation and interpersonal relationships and acting and sound effects here are, um, lacking to be honest
but it is sincere. it genuinely seems to care about all the leads, about their oppression and how they fought it. a very tonally strange film
i'm so sorry this movie is so spectacularly boring
idk everyone does a fine job, it's just, i guess after seeing this story so many times through my Godzilla watch throughs, and the fact that the story isn't even remotely changed from those instances (perhaps even shot for shot many times) just kinda makes this a slog
mothra is beautiful in every form
so that country that had a vaguely Russian name and a seemingly Islamic flag was like, just America? full of literal 50s style Good Ol' Boys in Proper Suits? kinda weird metaphors....
