anya taylor joy: *moves bishop to K4*
me having never played chess in my life: 'OMG what a play she's humiliated him'
Anya Taylor-Joy: *stares directly into the camera with her glinting eyes after moving a chess piece*
Me, humbly shaking my head: I resign.
I feel about Anya Taylor Joy in this the way 2012 tumblr girls felt about Benedict Cumberbatch in Sherlock
If Anya Taylor-Joy and Harry Melling had children, their kids’ eyes would be the right distance apart.
Anya Taylor-Joy has done so much and is still someone whose career I’m so excited to watch progress. This is fun as hell! And the editing is sexy. If nothing else, it made me download a chess app that I deleted less than 10 minutes later!
if i’d written a list of things that i thought i would’ve done in 2020, crying over chess probably would’ve came in at absolutely dead last... and yet here we are
Anya Taylor-Joy looking beautiful, being chaotic, and crushing men all around the world is right up my alley
but seriously, this is such a bingeable miniseries. hits the right notes for suspense, and even emotionally by the end as you get to know the main character – through a wonderful performance from Anya. the set and costume designs are beautiful, and I will probably listen to the score later again. Netflix’s miniseries game is definitely strong this October!
