if you ask my friends i watched the entire movie looking like that gif of Lenny at the awards show but inside i felt like a nice warm smile come to life! funny and nice and easy in a 2007 indie film kinda way, for better and worse! (give dakota johnson something interesting to do she deserves better)
as long as there is someone out there like zak who will see this movie and feel like they're valid and just as much of a person as everyone else is, i don't wanna hear shit about how this is just some generic indie movie
On paper, “The Peanut Butter Falcon” sounds like a cursed film; like a straight-faced parody of the quirkiest and most nauseatingly schematic American indies. The title alone takes you back to the awful darkness of “Napoleon Dynamite,” and the premise — a winsome young wrestling fan with Down syndrome escapes from his care facility with the help of a depressed crab fisherman played by Shia LaBeouf — could’ve been cobbled together by a computer program that’s been fed 20 years’ worth of rejected Sundance scripts.
And the opening few minutes of the actual movie, in which our hero attempts a cute and kooky jailbreak while a banjo-tinged b-side from the “Beasts of the Southern Wild” score wails on the soundtrack,…
Arclight premiere. Wholesome. Seems like something I’d watch w my sister back when I was younger.
Really charming but also kinda boring with some truly awful shot continuity and confusing character motivations. Also I'm not convinced that Dakota Johnson has ever acted before. Also also, I'm not convinced that Jon Bernthal has ever appeared in a movie for longer than 10 minutes.
But on the plus side, Zack steals every scene he's in. Great performance
what an utterly beautiful addition to the films that feel like warm hugs cinematic universe
"Friends are the family you choose"
I'm going to start this off by saying, everyone that even has a small interest in seeing this, please go out and do so. I drove out an hour to check this out because I think it's important to go out and support films like these regardless if you enjoy the final product or not. Which by the way I absolutely adored this.
While I have heard that this is the feel-good movie you need to see, what I loved most was that it wasn't trying so hard like most films do. This felt honest and real, but also has that magical touch that gives it its charm.

I didn't have many expectations for this movie although the trailer made it seem like something original, which is always a plus nowadays. and definitely appealed to me. What a film. This movie was heartwarming, funny, and certainly unique. The chemistry between Shia LaBeouf, Dakota Johnson, and Zack Gottsagen felt very genuine and natural, not to mention likable.
TRIVIA: The movie came about because the…
