I fucking hattteeeeee roaches. Seriously, nothing freaks me out more. I’m cool with spiders, snakes, ants, whatever, but you throw a roach at me and we are talking permanent psychological damage. Which is why I always put off watching this because I figured it would be one great big skin crawling nightmare, but then I finally decided to just watch it and maybe due to a hefty dose of allergy medicine (hello spring), it wasn’t that bad and I actually ended up enjoying it!
Totally ridiculous story that’s like an 80’s version of a 50’s sci-fi movie, great practical effects, and wonderful small town atmosphere made this a nice watch in spite of a ridiculous amount of roaches all over the place. I mean, whatever they paid the cast to deal with that, it wasn’t enough.
Also, Lisa Langlois is an 80’s horror staple that doesn’t get nearly the recognition I feel she should.
