Hell is being trapped in the same scenario, stuck doing the same thing over and over and over again. Everything you do means nothing, and nothing you do affects anything; at this point you'd prefer the sweet, merciful release of death but even that is a luxury you cannot have. No, you must bear the burden of this ordeal until it is over, a suffering for sins you're not even aware of. Please, just kill me, anything to end this torment.
Is it a trial by fire, a test of faith to see if one can still hold onto one's convictions in the face of abject pain and misery? Or is it just the nature of divine punishment? To be taunted with the promise of deliverance yet never receive it? At least have the decency to get it over with.
"Well, what happened to you?"
