Strong performances carry this ABC Movie of the Week about a presumed dead Vietnam POW who returns home to find his wife remarried, his father dead, his business dissolved, and his mind slipping back and forth between reality and his brutal interrogations and torture of the last five years. Dennis Weaver makes for a sympathetic lead and he transitions perfectly into dangerous psychotic breaks that endanger everyone around him, including his daughter, played by ubiquitous '70s child actor Pamelyn Ferdin. The supporting cast is stacked, too, with Anne Francis as his wife, Lois Nettleton as a close friend, and James Hong as the menacing Vietnamese Major. It's an intense drama which probably shone a light on PTSD, a subject that wasn't nearly as understood then, and which they didn't even have a name for yet. Definitely worth checking out.
