That's the best one-word description I can come up with to cover this rich, empowering and thoroughly entertaining Italian epic 'coming of age' tale. I say coming of age, in the sense of a couple of Italian brothers who are young adults when we meet them, but their lives then grow, twist and turn over the four decades in which the film is based.
With family, love, passion, loss and desperation being a few of the key emotions served up in this six-hour spectacular, there really is something for everyone. Unfortunately, I'd think the scary looking 366-minute runtime will put many off and this is a real shame, as I was entirely hooked from about twenty minutes in, when…
انه من قبيل الاجحاف ان نصفه بـ "فيلم" او "عمل"، فهو بمثابة حياة، استطعنا ان نرى خلالها أجيال تتعاقب وأناس تمضي وتخوض تجاربها وتتعرض لسلسلة من الأحداث الحلوة منها والمُرّة.
تستثمرُ عظمة هذا الفيلم اربعينَ عاماً من ايطاليا المعاصرة ابتداءً من النصف الثاني من الستينيات و حتى مطلع الألفية ، تتتبع من خلالها جيل ما بعد الحرب العالمية الثانية تماشياً مع واقع بلادهم التي تنهض من تحت ركام أعنف حروب البشرية
تضمين الأحداث الواقعية التي حصلت آنذاك ومواكبتها في قصتنا كانت بلا شك واحدة من أقوى جوانب هذه التحفة، أمثال فيضانات فلورنسا، والإرهاب اليساري في السبعينات، والتتويج بكأس العالم 1982 وقمع المافيا في الثمانينات والانفتاح الاقتصادي في التسعينات.

ٌكل شخص منا يستطيع اخذ إخراجٌ اعجبه، وكتابة ابهرته وتمثيلٌ أقنعه ،وموسيقىً اذهلته، لو قمنا بجمعها في عمل معين سيكون الناتج ملحمة مثل the best of youth.
بلا شك وحدة من أفضل وأكمل التجارب السينمائية التي خُضتها في حياتي.
'The Best of Youth' truly shows that even the youth is gone, with the help of kindness and compassion people still can continue living their best part of youth, and life can prepare the best of surprises for our worst times.
It's an amazing movie that everyone can find some pieces of their own life, love, sadness, juvenescence, dreams and faith.
Although it's a 6.5-hour long movie, I wish it was much longer!
عند انتهاء هذا الفيلم شعرت و كأن حياتي انتهت ، أشعر و كأني عشت حياة كاملة في هذا الفيلم، هذا ليس فيلم بل هو تحفة درامية ، بل اكثر من ذلك هو حياة كاملة ، ستة ساعات مرت و كأنها ستة دقائق
" وتمر الأيام، وتنمو الحياة وتتفرع، وتتجمع المصائر في الأفق. " - نجيب محفوظ
لمعت عيناي بالدموع كذا مرة في العديد من المشاهد خاصة في أواخر الفيلم.. قليلة هي الأفلام التي تفعل ذلك بي، لا أدري لربما هذا العمل يجسد كل ما تمثله الحياة.. لحظات النجاح والمرح، انتكاسات، مصائب، عقبات، مفاجآت.. وفي النهاية الحياة تمضي ولا تمنحك الفرصة لاستدراك ما فاتك فيها.. عليك فقط أن تتأقلم مع تقلباتها وتحاول قدر الإمكان أن تمنح نفسك مجالا للاستمتاع والفرح.
هذا الفيلم هو الفن بعينه، هذا الفيلم هو الإبداع، هذا الفيلم هو الحياة.
