this is the first movie i ever remember watching and that alone is enough to make me cry real tears
My children were not amused by this film. I’m proud their critical faculties are developing so quickly and so perceptively.

Another childhood favourite that I can't help but approach with loving eyes. Elmo and all of the other puppets are cuter than ever, the songs are infectious and Mandy Patinkin's big musical number is show-stopping brilliance.
Elmo in Grouchland is not only an incredibly warm film that was very influential on little me, but a film that still bops to this day. I legit love all the songs still, and the characters are still just as fun and vibrant as when I was a kid.
Mandy Patinkin is a wonderful villain in the film, and perfectly borders the line between despicable and endearing. His dialogue is hilarious and he plays the role with so much gravitas it makes it all the more entertaining. And Vanessa Williams as the Queen of Trash is my religion. My everything. My trash.
I love this film and it has a great amount of rewatchability, so definitely watch it if you havent.
elmo’s quiet little “this is not fun” as he hangs from a tree branch might be THE most tragic miserable gut wrenching moment in all of cinema. certainly top 5. he doesnt deserve this :(
when elmo said “it’s not nice to take things that don’t belong to you” he was really talking about marx’s theory of exploitation and private ownership of the means of production
