#58 in The films of Clark Gable.
I like this better today as I'm the mood for a cheesy romantic thriller with two great stars - Clark Gable and Susan Hayward, who bond over political problems in China and the disappearance of Hayward's husband (the dreadfully wooden Gene Barry).
Good to see 1950s Hong Kong, although Hayward never got there as she was stuck in the USA and legally unavailable to travel; clever backdrops and doubles disguise this.
The two stars click together a treat, and well, of course it is unlikely that Hayward would prefer Barry to Gable - it's as unequal a contest as Ralph Bellamy and Cary Grant in His Girl Friday .
Not a great film, but I enjoyed it and there's good colour in the supporting cast (Tom Tully, Anna Sten, Soo Yong, Leo Gordon, Frances Fong).
