The sterile and mysterious caverns of the station breathe. Lies, deceit, horror, love, beauty, yearning; the anonymous switches and the constant flashes of discordant noise establish a relationship between the known and the unknown. Nothing is beyond the infinite, for the individuals in Solaris are already locked within its inseparable and spellbinding spirit, longing for something that has already become dissipated and lost within the intimate chilliness of space. Sometimes, it is nature and the soul that fight, whispering their enveloping rhythms and beckoning the attention of those who are split, but what of those who take a side?
All I know is that I'm on Tarkovsky's side, and Solaris is another example of why he was one of the finest filmmakers to have ever lived. A re-watch was essential. WOW.
