the most uncanny thing i’ve seen in a minute. at last, we gay people are allowed to be boring, have absolutely no chemistry with our romantic co-leads, and exist as nothing more than walking homosexual archetypes. at one point, my boyfriend and i were throwing out imaginary lines uma thurman could randomly utter in her southern cate blanchett impression that would fit into this scarlet fever dream of a script and said “honey, we’ve gotta get you on truvada.” two minutes later, those words left her mouth.
Queer people deserve cheesy, cringey, stupid little romcoms too!!

Uma Thurman’s civil war general accent had my whole theater cackling. Why is Hollywood so convinced Texans sound like that???

An objectively “good” film? Probably not, but I had a great time, and sometimes that’s enough!
