Oh darling, it's just a scene of an innocent doll being transformed into a donkey through the consumption of alcohol and tobacco just like countless other children after being lured to a secret slave island by the promises of surface pleasures such as amusement park rides and magical showcases!

All childrens animation needs to be made by bitter alcoholics creating stuff for audiences who are expected to die in a trench as soon as they reach adulthood.

Even today, the power of these iconic lines is unrivaled. I believe this is due to the fact that the film itself is about something. It's not just a made-up fable or a silly fairy tale, but a story with deep archetypal meaning. Great job, Walt Disney!
Can we please talk about how this is basically all Jiminy Cricket’s fault? I mean, good call on that Blue Fairy for giving the role of Pinocchio’s conscience to the first thing available, without any background checks, without any inquiries about Jiminy’s experience and motivation. But, once bestowed with the task of guiding naïve freshling Pinocchio, Jiminy is completely useless. He’s much more concerned with being a perv, hitting on everything remotely female including some of Gepetto’s music box figurines. Seriously, Jiminy needs to be fired but instead gets his stupid golden medal by the end of the story. He comes too late and can’t stop good ole Pinoc becoming an actor. And what does Jiminy Lazybones do? He thinks…

Once the song is over and the dancing passes, you owner goes "Alright that was all fun and games, go to bed because you have school tomorrow."
You've been alive for ten minutes and already have to go to school... this film just makes me realize being alive isn't as great as people make it sound.
Although differing considerably from Carlo Collodi’s The Adventures of Pinocchio, this Walt Disney adaptation still undertakes a spectrum of themes. Fundamental to these is the disfiguration of untruthfulness alongside the complications of prevailing belief and cultural consequences, resulting in a noticeably more mature work than Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Directed by Hamilton Luske and Ben Sharpsteen, who develop complicated compositions via terrific use of multi-plane camerawork to construct a vibrant world of authenticity; this stands as the crowning achievement in Disney's classic era.
Disney's technical peak, an outstanding mix of basically every style they'd tried across that first, spectacular run of features. Hyper-realistic background details mesh with soft, expressive character detail and genuinely frightening expressionism in the hellish second half. All of it meshes so well together to create the most complete Disney Animated Feature, and a standard for American animation that has barely been even approached in the 80 years since it was made.
