Jacques Demy’s first filmic creation. He achieved this by boiling and scrapping away a Charlie Chaplin short film and painting directly on the frames (source: Jacquot de Nantes).

The first film of the New Year and I may as well get started on this massive French New Wave project I want to undertake. More information about it is in this list, but I'm looking forward to it and Demy's childhood pieces are as nice a place as any to start.
