I lived in Katherine, about 2 hours north of Larrimah, between 1995 to 1999.
I met every single one of those 'personalities' during my time in Katherine, and can absolutely, positively confirm each & every one of the people featured in Last Stop Larrimah is stone cold killer material.
No shit, in real life, Mick Taylor would be fucking frightened to mess with Fran and her famous fucking pies.

The most Australian thing I have EVER SEEN. So Australian that the man who went missing had the exact same Kath & Kim key ring that came free with the Sunday paper one time when I was a kid, and so Australian that everyone that’s in it says “here” as “ere”. This blew my mind, the people, mind blowing, you cannot make this stuff up.
I kinda love Australian true-crime stories being done by Americans, the way they paint us is hysterical. I don’t know if I’ve ever laughed so much while watching something that’s true-crime.
I have to wonder what all the Americans watching this on HBO must be thinking about Australians. 😂
Note to self: don’t leave recordings lying around saying “can’t wait until my mortal enemy dies or vanishes suspiciously!”

Quite enjoyed this documentary about an Australian town of 11 people. One night, one of them, plus his dog just disappears. The documentary (produced by the Duplass brothers) interviews most of the inhabitants, most of whom are constantly drinking beer and blaming each other for the disappearance.
It's sad in a way that there's so much disharmony in the town, but some of the interviews are truly hilarious.

I needed the extra 10 mins where they explain how people get money or how any of these businesses survive at the end
I know they'll read this but Australians are definitely a different breed 😅 Like, they are so funny in the worst situations. Like, I couldn't do that hahaha
Also, I never had meat pies. What are those? Are they really a thing? A camel pie? Whatever other things they had there? Like, let me know. Would people really fight over that?
