The Banks Family reunites 25 years later for a very special event to benefit World Central Kitchen.
Now that's how you do a reunion special in 2020!
"How are you doing on rubber gloves, anyone need refills? ... the first 1,000 you sent are still good Poppy."
I admit I am a complete sap for the Steve Martin 'Father of the Bride' movies, so it was wonderful to start my day with this short film that reunites these characters on a Zoom call. The clips of the previous movies and that amazing score from Alan Silvestri instantly made me feel right back at home with the Banks family, plus some new faces.
The short is of course a little cheesy and delightfully sugary sweet, as Kieran Culkin's character Matty makes a big announcement to his family. All…
A mini sequel to the Father of the Bride (1991) and Father of the Bride Part II (1995) remakes, Netflix’s Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish) (2020) reunites the original cast and a couple of new additions via the COVID pandemic’s obnoxious video chat check-in trend for charity. Unless you are a diehard fan, pass on this short’s 27 minutes of actors awkwardly staring at each other between anemic jokes.
They really added Florence Pugh and Ben Platt to this family. Arguably the greatest decision in cinematic history
I have absolutely no idea as to why I watched this. I have never seen a Princess Bride movie.
Oh wait, Florence Pugh is in it.
fun little zoom thing, not much more. would absolutely love to see an actual Father Of The Bride Part III at some point tho, love Nancy Meyers
Thoughtfully implemented for the pandemic, this video short that serves as a third installment to the Father of the Bride trilogy has flashbacks and many touching moments that kind of drown out any comedic effect that might have been there. It's as sweet and gushy as the two feature films, and seeing the two babies from the second grown up was a bit and having De Niro thrown in was interesting. But I'd really only be able to suggest this to folks like my mother who get such thrills out of sappy event like weddings. It's a sentimental and time-applicable addition to the franchise, but it really isn't my kind of thing just like the rest of the franchise.
