When a Tilda Swinton character feels boring compared to the rest of the characters, you know you have something special. Brad Pitt dominates this film, and makes us all ponder the security... of our shit.

The Coen Brothers make two kinds of movies: "person trapped in Hell, dooms themselves and others without ever understanding how or why" and "broad, shaggy dog-style farces." This film represents the synthesis of the dialectic and while leaning towards the farcical, is actually the meanest film they've ever made.
