I must have uttered the phrase "what the fuck" out loud like 50 times while watching this.
To discuss the plot would spoil it, so I won’t, but I will say this was not what I was expecting.
In a weird way this reminded me of The Babysitter... but this is way less goofy and relies on some solid filmmaking and nice performances rather than flashy McTricks. Not my favorite, but I’d Recommend this for a holiday horror fix, especially since it’s a hell of a lot better than Red Christmas and the zillion DTV krampus movies that keep popping up every 12 minutes.
Maybe it’s because I recently self-inflicted all those awful Krampus movies but, I really enjoyed this.
A teenager is babysitting a 12-year old boy when they both suddenly realize that someone outside is watching them. I’m not going to go into any more detail because if there was ever a (recent) movie that you don’t want spoiled, it’s this one. Unfortunately, thanks to the internet, I knew the basic gist of what was going to happen. Still, it didn’t happen the way I expected so I don’t feel like anything was ruined for me.
