It’s ironic that the last episode of such an incredible anthology series is the first one I can’t find anything to like. The animation by Science Saru is the exact opposite of their previous episode. It’s harsh and I found it to be genuinely ugly. Even though I know it’s like that way intentionally (to mimic the agony the protagonist experiences), I still couldn’t get into it from a visual sense.
But I also found the story to be a bit of a mess. Everything that occurs is so sudden. Especially the ending decision to save Misa. The music is so serious for a moment that was completely rushed. It’s hard to feel much of anything from this…
The art style really stands out from the rest of the series, as did everything else. I’m so happy to see more emphasis being put on the samurai-inspired aspects of Star Wars, which have been there from the beginning.
Strong atmosphere and once again I like the samurai influence, but overall not the most memorable short to end the season on.
well this show has just been delightful! i’m a huge fan of anime and i love star wars as well so to see the two worlds colliding has been an absolute joy! i would love to see some of these stories expanded upon, whether anime or live action, and of course, i would love a season 2!
my ranking:
1. lop & ochō
2. the ninth jedi
3. the duel
4. the elder
5. the village bride
6. t0-b1
7. the twins
8. akakiri
9. tatooine rhapsody
Akakiri: interesting. Middle of the road probably. That’s a wrap for Visions! I’m not going to rank them but The Village Bride was my favourite and there were some other contenders. The project served its purpose and gave us a glimpse into Star Wars in a new medium, hopefully they’ll use it for a more ambitious project down the road!

Star Wars Visions
Last one from the Visions anthology and its among my least favourite. Felt disjointed and while there’s some interesting inner conflict within the main character, it doesn’t go anywhere due to the time constraints. Aside from that, not much else appealed to me.
Overall, Visions was a very good idea. There’s endless possibilities in the world of Star Wars and using anime to bring some to life was cool.

This was a decent episode, but not really the best one to choose for a season finale.
The story was fine and it had an interesting moral dilemma and some good characters, but I wasn’t that invested in it.
I found the animation style to be more simplistic and boring than in many of the other episodes.
The most interesting deal with devil story I've seen and the most compelling psychological exploration of what it means to carry the burden of being a Jedi in a world where justice and balance no longer seem to have a place.
Absolute masterwork 😤
