Touched ★★★★

John Flynn applying the economy that made him one of the better action directors of his generation to a small gentle love story between two mental patients and their process of resocialization. Maybe not always the most enlightened of films, but taken by Borzagian empathy. The mix of 80s gloss and quiet desperation works well and the midsection with Robert Hays (quite good) slow attempt to find an achor in life is lovely observed.
