I Care a Lot

I Care a Lot ★★★½

Talk about a film falling off a cliff. The first 70ish minutes were excellent, with a good mix of style, dark humor and thrills. The pain we feel for the elderly being screwed by the system and so many people is real and makes for a large group of antagonists that I was dying to see meet their demise. Then we get the twist, and another twist and another... and we really lose most of the initial intrigue as the movie just gets more and more ridiculous. Which is a shame because I actually really enjoyed most of the movie and the performances all around were excellent. Not sure why they tried to paint Pike’s character as the “good guy” at the end. Very weak final act
