Review In A Nutshell:
Quiet and tender in its story of a young girl’s therapeutic fantasy, embracing more on the encouraged questions than the catharsis it seeks. This focus on the process stores the strength of its storytelling, with enough spaces and pauses in its rhythm for ourselves to insert into this therapeutic exercise. Had I stumbled upon this film at a vulnerable time in my life, the emotional resonance on me would have compounded.

We Need to Talk About Kevin throughout left me extremely frustrated; it has a strong premise and the performances brought by the cast are beyond excellent, but the film's emotional pile up of unsympathetic hate towards its titular subject was simply exhausting.
The film doesn't seem to have any solid purpose towards the relationship between Kevin and his mother, Eva; leaving the audience with scenes that executes its emotions perfectly, but left with a blank canvas…
