I watched the trailer for the sequel today and really liked it, so I thought I should watch this movie cause maybe I was missing out on something special, it was nominated for an Oscar after all.
Well I wasn't really missing anything. It's another Marvel movie, it tries to have some sort of social commentary but it ends up being really shallow (like every Marvel movie). I didn't like the pacing, the ending feels quite rushed and kinda…
It's fun, it's entertaining, it's good enough but not good enough for my pal Taika.
It's extremely safe, Thor Ragnarok succeeded in being silly but heartfelt but this one felt too silly. Not the worst Marvel has made at all, but extremely mid with a few moments of brilliance that there's a much better version of the film somewhere, but this version is really really shallow.
Nevertheless, I enjoy watching Chris Hemsworth play Thor, he does it nicely, and…
Im having a hard time rating this.
On one side, it's a very 80's movie and probably one of the most solid ones, even if it checks all of the 80's movie boxes, so given the context, this should be like a 4
On the other side, I don't really enjoy 80's movies and the dogfighting wasn't enough to make this entertaining for me, so I'd rate it like 2,5
So I'll stick to 3.
Ps. what the fuck is wrong with the music, so intrusive.
