I have never more blown away by a movie before. 2001: A Space Odyssey is a psychedelic experience of visual story telling. Denis Villenueva can do no wrong. Dune, based on Frank Herbert's books, is a fascinating epic if you let yourself get immersed into the world. I was worried that certain aspects of the book would translate horribly on the big screen but they made it work even better than the book in my opinion. This project is so grand in scale. Oh boy another marvel movie were its soul purpose is to set up future characters and movies. The ending also fucking blows. You’re telling me half their army died fighting the shadow army things but a bunch of kids with no experience fight them and get out with no scratches because thor powered them up. He couldn’t just done that with the remaining army or any other group of people. And then the villain just trusted thor to watch over his zombie daughter without any reconciliation. He went from god genocide to yeah this one is good enough for my kid without being earned.
