Walken’s White moves in a post-prison fog. He attempts to position himself as someone doing a service for the communities he presides over, as he sprints for a return to the top. His bursts of energy are always performative and it’s evident that even he doesn’t totally buy his own bullshit. It’s an interesting performance, especially measuring it against the rest of the cast.
Ultimately, it was kind of tough to love the tonal shifts.
