I'll have to revisit this one later. I shouldn't have watched this having taken two naps earlier while still exhausted, I found myself falling asleep every now and then. but even having done that I still found myself fascinated by the silence, as I am with every Akerman film. no one understands silence like Chantal does. because when the silence is broken, like when the sound of New York is louder than her mother's voice, it's all the more powerful and heartbreaking.
