GLORIOUS. An Unapologetically old school, non-ironic, traditional slasher movie. A story that feels straight out of the early 80s, with a look and tone that reminded me of the Final Destination films of the 2000s. I can’t believe Eli Roth made one of my most enjoyable horror films of the year. I was grinning from beginning to end.

Fun! I preferred the heightened, campy tone of the first half compared to when it tries to go a bit clever and serious in the final act (and not very well). But overall, thoroughly entertaining!

You know how Marvel is (sometimes unfairly) accused of prioritising CGI beams of light in the sky, setups for future films and nods and references to other Disney owned properties over story, character or emotional stakes?
Well tonight I watched Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
